About Me
Sound Speeds!
My name is Kyle Jacobsen. I'm a production sound mixer, boom operator and sound utility technician based in Los Angeles, CA. I provide friendly, professional production sound services for all sorts of productions.
Since 2013 I've consistently worked on feature length/short narrative films, reality/narrative TV, commercials, documentaries, corporate/branded content, fitness videos, podcasts, and more!
I pride myself on learning about my clients' visions, coming up with creative ways to capture audio on-set and giving them lots of options in post-production for building the perfect sound-scape!

Education
In addition to rolling sound on-set, I also enjoy teaching others what I've learned throughout my career.
I'm an adjunct professor for the Advanced Film Sound course and a guest lecturer for documentary filmmaking courses at California State University Northridge, my alma mater.
I've also made a comprehensive course in On-Set Etiquette that's coming soon to Video Mantis.
This course is for people who are new to the film/tv industry or anyone needing some advice on how one should present themselves on a professional production. Students will learn about things like on-set safety, establishing work relationships with clients and fellow crewmembers, communication skills and more!
